Default Fibreglass wings

Can anyone help?
I've got a chance to buy 4 secondhand fibreglass wings for my beetle. My old metal ones need repairing. Is it better to get the metal welded, replace them with the secondhand fibreglass wings or buy new metal wings?
Thanks

Depends......

If you can 100% verify that your steel wings are genuine original factory VW items then probably worth repairing them unless they are really badly shot. Accidents notwithstanding at least they will be the correct shape.

The majority of steel wings out there will be repro ones and the quality ain't up to much on most of them.

If the GRP wings are Day Mouldings items then they are the next best thing to genuine steel VW ones and IMHO way more desirable than repro steel ones. Would not like to comment on any other GRP wings....

As Dave says Genuine wings are ultimately the best but itís virtually impossible to get solid good genuine wings now. If youíre after stock sized GRP wings find yourself as set of Day Mouldings wings they really are great quality & the fit is perfect. I have now sold my Day Mouldings wings as I needed wider wings for my German look build. These are from CSP these are still very good quality but not as good as the Day Mouldings wings.
