Readers Rides Post pics, specs and build-up stories of your vehicles - or even your garages here. Also interesting stuff about your 'daily drivers' etc. or interesting cars you have seen on your travels, even motors-based TV shows you can recommend. Please, no 'For Sale' or 'Want To Buy' ads, plugs for your 'business', links to 'for sale' ads or Ebay links to your (or your mate's) auction (use the VZi 'Classifieds' section) - this also includes thinly veiled 'What's My Car Worth?' threads and "Who Can Sell Me A . . ." posts. Default Non VW, My Nissan Micra Pickup build

Hi all,
Right well recently i have been getting increasingly frustrated with my 67 beetle project. This is mostly down to ill fitting repair panels and endless seams of rot and bad repairs. So this weekend i decided to do something different. I have a number of nissan micra K11's that i have collected over the last couple of years and was looking for something to do with them. So last week after some alcoholic inspiration i decided that if you squinted the look a bit like a pickup. so that would occupy my time while i have a break from the beetle. This is my progress so far after this weekends work. Hope you enjoy.
Mick

took the good old 9 inch too it

made up a framework for new skin to sit on

And this is where i am at now

Cheers Guys
I'll try and get some pictures of my old mans mog for you. Hes currently welding a 3 point linkage on it and routing a rear PTO shaft.

Haha - simple but effective

I should have done something with my old Micra, but I just couldn't see the potential. This looks like such a fun project!

sorry all been busy down the pub

so this is where i am now. I have complete the bulkhead an ground back all the welds flush to make nice edges.

I have also completed the sills on both sides (although the drivers one is a bit neater than the other so may need to come back to this).
