To conserve cash i'm using my least thirsty motor for a daily at the moment...... but occasionally I fill the tank in my Porsche and use it until its empty. Only 260hp in my boxster, but I do plan on swapping it for a 996 c4s wideboy when some more cash is in the coffers

Yep, I do agree but I also think that they are getting a bit long in the tooth now and those that haven't been wrapped around trees, ended up in ditches or rotted away will probably have been owned by people who don't care enough about looking after a car like that.
or have been owned by people who look after them. There ARE people out there who keep stuff for a long time, and look after it.
