I've got a stock 1600tp engine, which used to run beautifully, I've just added some dellorto 36DRLA's which (when the engine runs) are excellent.
However, they dont like starting when cold, I replaced the starter bush on tuesday and now it must have gone again cos even with a full battery the...
I am going to be putting in a 12 volt starter on my bug which has a 6 volt starter atm.
I know that you need to change the starter bush, and clearence the bellhousing.
I can clearence it easily enough, I have access to quite a large die grinder which can take some serious meat off..
anyone got any tips for removing and replacing the starter motor bush as i no longer have the correct tool as my friend broke the tool when he last used it and what oil due i soak the bush in thanks bulli
