Hi people, (dizzy experts!)
Hoping someone could help a little, i'm in over my head a bit.
Just finished a complete rebuild of my 1500 H SP engine to a 1600DP using 34pict3 carb. (was 30PICT2 originally).
I've used my old distributor, which seems may have been the wrong decision!
my doer upper/ spare engine has a DVDA distributor and from what i've heard: they were taken off before the cars were sold in some cases and you cannot get the cans for them etc.
So are they crap or should i keep it and leave well alone?
cheers... just wondering if i should swap before use;)

Was fine once warmed up after a few mins but today after coming back from raceshack it just cut out and i had to bang a friends dizzy with points in...
What would be the best dizzy to use? Vac advance or 009? I'll be more than likely running twin dell carbs.
Also, vwheritage offer repro vac advance dizzys for just under £50 are they any good?
