I have replaced the (very nicely working) original 1200cc engine on our 1978 mexi bug. Everything was working when we removed and stripped out the motor. I have:
Air intake with filter £10
Pair of original, heavy, heat exchangers, very solid, working control valves, no holes with surface rust...
I’m upgrading to using a doghouse fan shroud, I have the long connecting rod which connects to one flap either side but what am I missing to connect the others either side? Also what do people use for clips to secure?
I currently in the process of re-building a 1200cc engine out of a 67 bug and upon inspection have found out that one of the previous owners has removed the thermostat, linkage bar, flaps etc.
I've bought a new thermostat, bracket and connecting rod but I can't seem to find anywhere...
the video shows how to repair the flaps in the heating unit of a climatronic:
The video has a German soundtrack but English subtitles are available at YouTube. If you don't see them by default, watch the video directly at YouTube and press the subtitle button below the video.
Hi, I have a 1700 type 4 engine in a 72 bay, ever since i have had my van the flaps have been stuck open, i guess the thermostat is not working. Is this ok to have the flaps open all the time or should i invest in a thermostat to get them working as they should be?
Any suggestions would be...
It's summer now so I'm going to take the duct tap off the inside of the fresh air grille of my Bay to get some added ventilation.
I had them taped up for winter and spring driving because the seals for the fresh air flap had crumbled to bits.
Where can I find new seals? I remember reading that...
