I am restoring my Sept 55 Standard RHD Oval floorpan, unfortunately there are a lot of repairs to make to the floor pan halves, mainly around the perimeters. I would like to buy replacement pan halves and would really appreciate the general opinion of which is better quality...
I'm after a Beetle chassis or floor pan. A rolling chassis would be nice but I'm not too bothered. I'm planning to build a sandrail so need this for a base. Any other pan I have seen advertised are the other end of the country so somewhere near Essex would be nice. What ya got??
I have a 71 Beetle that needs some welding work doing. I've been learning to MIG weld and have been practising on 2mm and 0.8mm sheet. I know 0.8mm is bodywork thickness, but are the Beetles any different with them being so old? Also, how thick are the original floorpans?
I need to weld in...

I need the part circled in this pic:
Are they available separately from floorpan sections? If not I may consider a floorpan rear 1/4 or 1/2 if they're cheap :D
Otherwise has anyone got that part of a floorpan or just the channel from breaking a car?
Thanks in advance.
