I have a VW T4 Caravelle 1999mod Syncro 2,5 tdi that wont start.
The starter motor rotates but the fuel-pump cut out solenoid doesn't get power to open for fuel flow. when I connects the solenoid directly to the positive pole on the battery, the motor starts directly.
I have tested the power...
I stripped carb down at the weekend and found the plunger end of the solenoid missing.
The engine is new to me and I'm in the process of installing the engine at the moment so haven't run it yet
Do I only need to replace it if I get the engine running on after switch off?
