Initially my car has 4.5" wide wheels so obviously per side, they'll poke by about 2.5"s hence Im after a 5" narrowed beam and all the associated bits.
I was planning to go with Fairbank & Craven and have...

It is very solid, he had a build thread when he put it together so you can track it...

Bit of a question before I start cutting things up really. I have just fitted a 2" narrowed beam to my '66 Bug, but the Pitman arm on the steering box fouls on the Beam Tower. Is this just a case of cutting down the length of the stop on the pitman arm to clearance the tower or am I missing...
Whats stopping me from elongating the holes on the solid end plates of a narrowed beam to allow it to be lifted up higher on the chassis thus getting lower but without binding the ball joints?
I was thinking an extra 1/2" - 1"...this possible? Would anything foul?
NB on a late bay BTW :)

Is this true? I thought that it could be narrowed upto 4" without any body modifications at all but if I wanted it narrowed...
