Just put my fancy new Hurst shifter knob on, and as you can see, it sort of needs to stay facing in the same direction unlike a ball type knob. How do I stop the shifter shaft from rotating? Should I even be able to twist it in the first place?

I think i read on here somewhere that the empi quick shift plates are stackable? one person claimed to have seen 4 or 5 used on a volksrod! can anyone confirm/disprove this? would it shorten the throw any more than just a single one?

Empi Hurst style shifter. Looks like new, it was only in my car for a few weeks, as i've now just bought an original GT beetle shifter, which is something i have always wanted for my bug:). Nice to use, reduces throw by 60%. Easy to fit, select neutral, remove old shifter, bolt on new shifter...

So i have a empi hurst shifter in our 72 bay :) Have done for 3 yrs, What is the difference then........... Looking at upgrading/changing to the scat t-bar shifter, the cost difference £40........but is it worth it ? Any comments, advice welcome :) Many thanks

just put my quick shifter into my 67' all the gears are absolouteley lovey but.....i cant find reverse..i know where it is....(pull up the lever thing and left and down) but it just wont work....keeps going into fourth...any ideas why?
