Does anybody know where i can buy a set of fibreglass speaker kick panels for a type 1 in the UK? Been looking for a while and can only find plastic ones which i have heard are not as good.

Bought a pair of kick-plates (from VW Hertiage) to mount speakers in my front footwell. Intended fitting some 6" Panasonic speakers as these are supposedly shallow (measure 45mm) but the panels don't seem to fit right. Have only taped speaker in place - don't want to cut them as I may soon...

A pair of original rear kick panels taken from my 1500 Beetle (early 1970) with a custom cut 160mm speaker hole. The vinyl is not damaged however there is some rust stains on one side which would not clean off with minimal effort. You will see from the pictures that the hardboard is perished...
