Anyone know of any companies they've used/know abut that will refurb my 1970 T1 Speedo to include a different colour face plate?
Im after ivory/off-white instead of black and wanted to retain the original speedo rather than use a modern/aftermarket digital one etc...
Im sure ive seen companies...
I'm looking for any of these (Speedo, Tacho and Fuel). Need to be in decent condition and in working order and also have the silver dots in the centre, like the picture below.
Anybody out there got any? PM me if so.
I'm new to this site so thanks for having me.
I've recently bought a 2001 1.6 16v MK4 Golf engine code AZD.
I had a 1.4 MK3 before and for one that seemed to have a bit more punch to it as far as accelerating and this MK4's speedo is reading about 20% lower than the actual speed I...
Earlier on I noticed my illumination on the dash was not working but the headlights are working. I think this happened when I was messing around with my electrics trying to fit a new stereo and I connected the battery up to search for a 12 volt source when ignition is on. All of a sudden lots of...
Hi I have a 1974 right hand drive beetle convertible, I am now on my third speedo cable and dont know whether the cables are poor quality or its being fitted incorrectly. I has broken at the back of the speedo every time and the cable sheers off from the key on the speedo. Is this poor cables or...
Are there any issues with getting your speedo/odometer reset in terms of your recorded mileage on the V5 or MOT?
Thinking about getting my speedo refurbished and there is the option to have it zeroed, which with a new engine might be nice. Just wondering if there would be any potential...
If you have could you look at something for me please?
On the spindle that the mileage numbers run on there is a brass cog on the end.
I need to know if a 70 Bay speedo head has 11 or 13 teeth on the brass cog at the end of the mileage spindle.
Has anyone on here fitted an electric / electronic speedo to a classic Beetle?
If so did you use a specific electronic sender to replace the speedo drive cable in the wheel hub?
Which one did you use? Does it work OK? Or did you find another solution (GPS etc)?
My speedo has stopped working and I'm looking for somewhere to send it. Found the JDO website that quoted £40 plus p&p and when I called him he said that was the old site and it's now £60.
Anyone recommend someone or is that about the going rate?
The cable spins but nothings happening with the...

firstly: i can only get main beam and not dipped. when i flash it is full beam and when i turn on dipped it is still main beam. i believe there is a small tag that has broken off the indicator stalk but when we...
Has anyone opened up their standard clocks? I was thinking about upgrading the illumination bulbs and perhaps colour coding the needles. I also want to paint the ring around the clocks black, as it is currently an aluminium type finish. Any pics, advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated :)
I know it's an early clock but I'm unsure of the year I think it's 67 as it has "10 67" stamped in ink and stamped into the metal.
It looks to be in superb condition doesn't seem discoloured and the needle hasn't gone too yellow.
There is however two tiny (I'm talking millimetres) marks on the...
I am told this is the likely reason my temp gauge is not working. The PCB board in the back of the speedo is faulty (I can see a relay has broken wire on it - tried to fix with no success)
the PCB is easy to get out the back of the speedo unscrews, but so far I have failed to locate one! Any...
trying to track this item down. In my van this PCB board is L shaped and can be removed from the back of the speedo (unscrew back of speedo clock). It plugs into the main PCB board via a 9 pin socket.
I'm told it is the reason my temp guage is now working!
