I have brought a ssp merged header and the thermostat is in the way of the drivers side j tube. Is this a common problem? do I need a different thermostat?

My 2165cc has no thermostat fitted but the flaps are in the dog-house cooler. I will be pulling the cooler to fit the firewall material back in. Should I make an effort to fit the thermostat push rod and thermostat back on? Who runs a hi-performance engine with thermostat?

Ok, so I need a type 4 thermostat, I cant find one that doesn't cost a bazillion bucks, I have read about converting a type 1 thermostat to do the same job. Is there a replacement kit? what do other type 4 engine owners do? Please help, I am at a dead end. Cheers!

I've just put another engine in my car, an AB code 1300 TP. I had the fan housing off to do some other work, put it and all the linkages back on, but forgot to put on the failsafe spring. Doh! Would've taken ten seconds at the time, and now the engine's in after an hour of groping around the...

I am toying with the idea if looking to fit a deliyed "on" timer to activate the fan on the remote oil cooler. Has anyone else done this? I know the easy way is to put a switch on the dash & pull it as & when needed. Currently my fan is swithced on vai a relay when you turn the ignition switch...

Just been testing it in a cup of hot water and seems to work ok, about 10mm of travel so considering refitting it, but is it worth it, seems to me the flaps cause a restriction to the air flow?
