As it says really.A bug I'm going to look at has 145 rubber on the front.I may want to put the 145s on 5.5 inch wide sprintstars.Will this work and be safe.I have some 165 firestones which will go on but may hit the arch as its well lowereed.Jase

Put the tyre size in here, and it will tell you exactly what rim size it is suitable for. :)

If it is a 145/80/15, then it should be fine according to the tyre calculator. :D

They will fit, but they're not really suited. (or particularly safe either)

If you enjoy taking bends, you won't look very cool with your bug embedded in the scenery.

I'd go for 175 / 65 / 15's - about the same OD as stock, so keep your speedo reading right, plus more rubber on the road. IMHO skinny tyres belong on drop handle push bikes.

You'll have to be extra careful about kerbing your rims too - with 145's the tyres walls will be so stretched they won't give the rims any protection.
