Right I'm just putting together a 1776cc and the key thing missing is the oil system related parts so before I buy the wrong bits I thought I'd ask........

The engine is full flow and runs a deep sump. Was thinking of buying the full oil cooler/filter kit from SSP.

1/ Should I still fit the std oil cooler in the doghouse?
2/ Do I still fit a std thermostat to open the fan housing flaps?
3/ Should I fit a remote filter?
4/ What size oil cooler rad should I run for this size engine?
5/ Best location for oil cooler (it's going in a '53 Oval)?

Cheers in advance

Yes, definetly.

2/ Do I still fit a std thermostat to open the fan housing flaps?
Yes, it will be better for your engine.
3/ Should I fit a remote filter?
Absoloutley.

You shouldn't need one at all if you've built your engine right.

Over the gearbox if you really must. (and fit an oil thermostat if you do decide to fit an oil cooler).
