So a very special bus, we were asked by a close friend to do some light restoration work on their bus, this bus has been in the U.K. since 2010 and dry stored since it arrived.

We travelled over to a secret location and pulled the bus from it’s hiding place and got it back to BDP HQ over the last weekend.

So to the bus, it is a 1967 11 window lhd sundial conversation camper. Quite frankly the most solid bus we have come across in many years, the plan is to return the bus to stock using as little repair panels as needed and OG if available.

It has had a wack in each corner and needs a battery tray but we will see if we can pull and repair these panels (not the battery tray)! Colour wise it’s a l87 pearl white bus so the blue will go, not by blasting but by hand sanding and stripping.
The chassis will be blasted, epoxy primer (colour matched) then raptor coated (again colour matched).
The running gear etc will be cleaned and repainted satin black with a new loom, seals etc etc
The engine (1500cc SP) will be test run and checked over, and rebuilt where needed.

Once put back together we will MOT it and then return it to its owner.

Here is Sven.

Damaged rear corners are just full of slop so both are coming off, drivers long panel has damaged to the end section under the vents luckily we have an old repro panel which is not good enough for us to fit but is good to cut up so we will donate this to the cause.

The front nose had a spare wheel carrier fitted at some point and the bulkhead spare wheel section removed, so the nose is dented and the bulkhead needs replacing.

I have just been reading up on your other thread working on another ‘67 - you certainly keep yourself busy with these busses.

Nice to see two ‘67s being restored in parallel - with a totally different end result specified from the outset.

I will watch both threads with interest.

Keep up the good work👍
