Hello...

What oil pressure would you expect to get from a AAZ engine when it is hot?? Mine is currently reading 20psi at idle & goes above 40psi when driving it....

Also, I've heard that some of these engines have a 2 stage warning? when it drops below 30psi it flashes then when it goes below 7psi the light will stay on???

Any idea?

From that description i would say the pressure is low or the engine is running too hot. Did the buzzer of doom come on? If not it may be a low pressure switch problem.

If you disconect the high switch you will need to earht the connection or the buzzer of doom and light will come on whenever the revs go over 2000rpm.

If it was mine i would replace both switchs and see if problem goes.

Cracked it,

Replaced the high sensor. It made it worse so I done a home pressure/rpm test. It measured above 28psi at 2000rpm so no problem there. I drove it until the buzzer came on and tested again while buzzer was doing its thing.... again no problem. THe switch is ultra sensative & goes off randomly. We have installed a oil pressure guage & earthed the switch. All seems ok now... I'll soon tell, gotta drive 200 miles tonite so I'll keep you posted.

Thanks Andy!

back again.

rite..... have earthed the high sensor & put in a pressure gauge so we can see what goin on all the time... this was fine and dandy for a 3-4 weeks.

But now... when i start up the low pressure light comes on until i rev it. The pressure is way up into the 60's. This happen when it's hot and cold.

Also the charging light has stopped coming on. But it still charges no problem at all.

I hate these oil pressure units.

The alternator can put the oil light on with a diesel, the instrument panel gets its speed signal from the alternator. The 2 small wires from the back of the alternator join the main loom above the starter motor check for broken wires.
