Been ages since I updated this. In-between heater channels for a mate and a mini for the mrs I've been working away on this. Mainly chassis work as the body still needs colour sanding.

Front gearbox mount added and stonechipped

Built up with all-new brakes - hard lines, flexis, rear cylinders and shoes. New irs bushes, front control arm bushes front and rear wheel bearings etc

The project came with two looms so managed to make one mint original one out of the two. Ran it one night - hidden as much as possible. There's only going to be one wire visible under the bonnet for the petrol gauge, the rest run underneath. Washer bottle will be hidden in the scuttle.

New brake fluid feed pipes too.

Body on

Since then it's come back to the home garage to get built up whilst waiting for colour sanding. Front screen is in so I could fit the dash and wire it up. It's going to be mainly stock with a carbon fibre insert and some blue gauges and I'm going to add led's to the speedo to match.

At the moment these two have taken over a bit

but I've got hold of some lowered springs for the front so have built up the struts for the front. Gearbox and engine in next

lol, you're not the only one to say that. Renting some space in Nicks unit certainly helps. I'm down there a couple of evenings a week and it's surprising what you can get done non-stop grinding and welding 'till 9pm a couple of nights a week. the red one gets bits done when everyone's in bed. But I do have a very understanding mrs

Like the idea of wire free under the bonnet looks so much neater ,any more picks of wire route to miss track rods etc
I’ve done nothing to mine in 4 months:(

I didn't take any before the body went on sorry, but it's surprisingly easy using the box sections and the wheel well support bracket. I stuck a couple of P clips in for paranoia but they weren't really needed.

So what have I been up to - not a great deal on the 03. Went a bit ott with colour coding. Shortened shocks, earlier style 3 bolt struts with new ball joints. I went to fit the spindles I had in the loft only to realise they were porsche ones, luckily I has a set of 3 bolt in the shed. Pair of new calipers rediculously cheap one w/e from gsf too so it's now got an all-new brake system. Finishing off the under the front end stuff then my mate will hopefully have time for the cut and polish so then I'll be able to get the wings on etc.

Been building this back up after paint the last couple of weeks, so it's taking over for a bit as I need to get rid of it back to my mate.

Full front end later:

and a nice little unexpected bonus for my 72:

Fitted some red dropped springs and tbh it didnt make much difference from stock to the ride height so got a set of adjustable ones from justkampers. Might need to raise it a bit but waiting till car is complete and wheels are on.

Banded gt's have been painted

Gearbox in and currently building up the engine. Hopefully that'll be in in the next week or so then on to the dash mods

The banded GT's painted in black look really nice, can't wait to see them on the car, they will really compliment it.
Really like the ride height as well.
Brilliant work as usual.

Thanks, it's at a bit of a frustrating stage. Could have most of it built in a week but waiting for a few paint issues to be sorted on doors and roof so cant build up much more after the engine goes in.

Mark theyre the wheels I had off you :)

This has been on hold for a while whilst I've been doing the fastback and Marks 1303 and waiting for the paint issues to be sorted (colour miss-match). Now all one colour and looking much better than it did thanks to Ty @Ty's bodyshop in Bulkington.
Cracking on with the rebuild now. Need to paint some quarterlights then can get the doors built, then find a clutch plate and get the engine in.

Not getting a lot of time on it, but want to get it finished for the club stand at Stanford Hall. Been sorting the dash wiring, started building up the doors and torturing the mrs by getting her to help fit the glass (her most hated job after bleeding brakes). Next on the list: quarter lights to paint and door handles to put some rekeyed barrels in to match the ignition
