I've had this coin knocking about for years and have never known anything about it apart from the obvious date.

Any interesting information?

It's a biggun too....

Cheers D, I'd already had an educated guess that it was circa 1822. Thanks for confirming that.

You are right in thinking the coin adjacent to it is worth 100 pence as it is infact a POUND coin!! The tooth faries left it for Coral last night.

:D its a half crown if it was gold it would have been a soverign ( as in the chav ultimate finger garment ) :D

i think its a half crown as its got g& the d on the back and im pretty sure a full crown has the coatr of arms on it???? although i cant remember as 15 years of constant lass a abuse has turned my once knowlegable brain into a turnip full of mish mash

If a crown is bigger than a halrf crown I pity the purse that had to hold it!! It's hoooooge!!
