In 2005 we went a place called La Guyonniere in the Vendee near La Rochelle. It was nice and quiet on the pitches but there were two pools, 1 in & 1 out, a bar, a restaurant, pool, internet, table tennis, climbing frames, lovely walk down to a nice river. It is close to a georgous beach at St Gilles Croix De Vie, about 15 mins drive. 5 mins from the village with all shops. And a pizza van in the village has the best pizza ever!
Thoroughly recommended my boy loved it.
This year we went do to Valras on the South Coast near Bezier. Tons to do down there for all ages not expensive at all, all people very friendly. We liked it so much we are looking for property to move there permanantly.
I have the Michelin guide 2006 for camping but didn't find it very good, but there are other books out there.
