Anyone been to Prague?

Thinking of going for New Year's Eve.

Can anyone recommend places to go/things to see etc?

I've been. We went this year on a stag do.

I wasn't overly impressed. Full of hookers and touts hassling you to go into their bars, clubs, etc.

It was fun but that was cus of the gang I was with. I wouldn't be bothered not ever going there again.

I was there a couple of weeks ago :lol:

I wouldn't go as a group of just lads, but I expect you'd find it hard to do that Alxx :lol:

Plenty of bars and stuff, supercheap beer if you go away from the touristy bars and nice food. Lots of kewel buildings to [email protected]@k at and stuff, and a hella lot of tourist tat to buy :lol:

Just wandering round the old town is lovely.

Eating in the main old square and touristy bits can be expensive so branch out a bit. Cheap mulled wine from street sellers is really nice when it's cold - much better than coffee.

If you go to the castle area there's a park nearby with a hill that gives you lovely views of the city. There's also an observation tower at the top.

Oh, wrap up warm - it was -7 on one day we were there!

We went last year. Nice european buildings very cultural. Get out of the tourist areas for decent cheap beer and food.

I was best man on a stag with 15 others.

We were there when England won the rugby world cup.

Yeah there were loads of touts and brightly coloured neon signed strip bars etc but you get used to it like you do every where else.

We used to stick to the more secluded non neon signed bars and tried to find the most localist bars.(theres a very good smallish bar at the very top of Weslande square,up the hill and fork right.)
about twenty paces along that top road and to your right theres a hobbit sized door with a small metal sign which goes down below a shop, Go in there

Nothing seedy just young (stunning) locals and funky music.
Oh yeah and 30 p a pint.
Cheap ciggis too.

oh, And go to the Five storey club on the left (through the tunnel) of charles bridge coming from the weslande side.Cant remember the name,Amazing each floor different music

Go out the back of this club and they have an outdoor area which is right on the river and underlooks (yes underlooks) charles and all the other bridges right down the river.

Go on a fri or sat as other nights its dead.

The central part the city is a Very beutiful place, But take a tram ride out to the outskirts and see how they really live.
Its a stark contrast, youll notice it a little coming from the airport.

We used to get back to our appartments at about 8.00am most mornings after starting at lunch time.

Couldnt do it these days though

Have fun and stay away from the street girls (one jumped on my mates back and bit him, luckily not into his skin).

We all thought that was hilarious at the time thinking back.

I'm guessing you didn't go for the beautiful architecture and sense of history then dude?

Woohoo to tourist tat!

Just really looking for somewhere cheap and beautiful to go for New Years, just four of us getting away from it all
