After 2 months of "processing" my council(camden) have told me they are not taking responsibility for the paint dropped on my van during the repainting of the lamppost it was parked under. They say i have to take it up with their contractors but could not give me their number  After a 20 min google search i have found the company but they are not answering the phone. If you live in Romford i need to know if they are still operating from the address i have, 32 lynwood dr, essex RM5 2RA, NR colliers road and if they have a contact No. displayed outside. Much obliged to you but dont go out of your way! See my previous posts for the full frustrating story.

I'm not local so I can't go check for you but I was bored and thought I'd do a little internet search :D

You haven't given the name of the contractor in your post but my results suggest that the company operating from this address is called L P Painters Ltd

Their phone no.s for 32 Lynwood Drive , Romford , Essex RM5 2RA are
phone +44 (0) 1708 767156, fax +44 (0) 1904 489508

they appear to also operate from or have maybe moved to Blakeney Brook Rd,Tolleshunt Knights, Maldon,Essex, CM9 8EX, phone +44 (0) 1621 815 151, fax +44 (0) 1621 815 350

and their registered address is Abacus House, 7 Argent Court, Sylvan Way, Southfields Business Park, Basildon SS15 6TH (Company No. 01482849) but this appears to be the address of their accountants (Elliott Mortlock Busby & Co)

Hope maybe some of this helps, although if it were me I'd still be pursuing the council!

Ben :)

I know a girl living that way> If I can contact her I'll try getting her to look
The Council is responsible for the work of its contractors, because the contractor was working as an agent of the local authority. They don't seem to have dealt with your complaint properly. I suggest that you complain to the Local Government Ombudsman. http://www.lgo.org.uk/

Agreed. Our Contractors are our representatives and so we are responsible for their actions. If it was one of our contractors then we would settle with yourself then go after the contractors.

When I say we, on the overnight service, 'we' is 17 seperate Housing Associations.

You get two kind of people working in local authority, true believers who want to do public good and those who cannot get a job in the private sector. Sounds like you have spoken to the later.
