(Yes - just took them back to shop at lunchtime..)
I have some electronic verniers and used them to double check
the cut on my flywheel main which I thought should be std 22mm.

They read 21.30 ?? I then checked betwee the flanges of the old bearing and they're 21.30 (or thereabouts) too. I then measured
another main (supposedly for a -1mm thrust cut) and that read
20.30. I have remembered to zero them each time..

Could they be faulty ? (from halfords..) Or am I missing something..

Cheers

is it a new flywheel? Measure something you know the dimensions of i.e. a feeler gauge or similar as they are pretty accurate. then you know how far out you are(if at all). I don't know what the tolerances are like on the halfords verniers. but i doubt its +/- 1.7mm!
