just wondering cos ive a set of wheels coming over for my bug from the states and with tyres nearly being half the price over there i'm thinkin about getting tyres fitted. alot of the big tyres manufacturers i would have thought just use same moulds with british and european and us standards all met.

was actually just wondering because ive never seen these on a car over here are they actually legal- do the meet eu standards etc.

if they have the 'E' stamped on em they'll be fine, if your MOT tester knows his shit and they arnt its a fial.....


the guy who does my MOT's was telling me that theres a load of smart car tyres come of from the land of the rising sun with out the E stamp, and are illigal.....supposidly.


ive seen tyres on lotus elise's with less tread on them than that described as a track day tyre, but complately leagal....
