I tend to use open source software, and only download music if I'm checking out a friends recommendations, (it's hard to borrow CD's when your mates are in other countries!), and that usually ends up in me adding to my CD collection. :D

So I'm probably not a puter pikey.

Although I do try to "recycle" old PC's wherever I can, which.. obviously, requires the use of a low footprint (usually open source) operating system :D

So I'm a puter pikey that way...

Actually I suppose it makes me more a Puter Tramp

Not really into MP3. I prefer the CD. IMHO MP3 is to the CD, what the CD was to LP. Did that make sense. The sound quality on MP3 does suck compared to MP3. I have a few legally downloaded albums, they were very cheap and I stuck them straight on a MiniDisc.

the two, so far, who voted 'no' are surely being ironic
I felt sorry for that coloured bar being shorter than the others.

It would be a very rare occasion that I have downloaded music from the interweb...I just prefer the presence of a shop bought CD and the touchy-feely experience that you get in owning one. :D

And,yes, once upon a time cracked software for music production on the PC was quite easy to discover but most of it was unreliable or virus-ridden.

I realised that if I was prepared to spend £100's on musical hardware, then I could afford to spend that on software and get proper support etc. if I needed it.

OK a big hands up I love keygens, dat files, codes, and ini files. ftp rocks and I'm not ashamed to admit it. I have cracked many pieces of software but they never last. If I need them I WILL BUY THEM. I've spent over £100 on software over the past month but I knew what I was buying through messing about with them first.

I do download a fair amount of music. But I buy a lot more in those shop things you get out in the real world.
