They do - you turn them anti clockwise or clockwise to adjust. Obviously they can only be adjusted if removed.A few guys run Koni reds but they have no adjustment,

What is that setup like on the road for those that want to street their bug regularly?Ken
Plenty of cars are using AVO's and they work well and to answer the original question as to which are the best shocks then the answer in my opinion is AVO or other quality coil over. They cost £200 a pair,can be fitted in half an hour,fully adjustable shocker,adjustable height spring, £40 for a new pair of springs if you need to change spring rate.
Don't forget the flop stop.
Change the shocker valve for over 200lb springs and slicks
