big nuts

the nuts in the middle of the rear wheels the slotted ones on the rear drums are they normal thread or are they reversed depending on which side they are on??? ive also heard that they done up to a really silly torque and are a bitch to remove, is this true???

had a bit of a badden today too, has anybody ever welded the body inside the car, underneath where the pipe for the heater chanel enters the car with the body on??? found a rusty holean it dont look good..........

they are not reverse thread, but are VERY VERY tight, indead a bitch to remove
you'll need a big piece of pipe and someone to apply the brakes while you undo them

well that should be fun then being that my car does not have any brakes yet heh

Hey Thargor - you can buy a really simple 'tool' for undoing the castle nuts - its basically a lump of metal with a 36mm nut-shaped hole in it which you t&^% with a lump hammer - comes off easily.

No worries about having no brakes if you try and loosen them before you jack her up with someone holding the car the weight of the car should be enough to hold it
