-there is really no difference, the panels and chassi parts are pressed by the same old machines, just in a different country

-there are subtle differences in the brasil splits, ie all the glass has vw brasil on it
the rear chassis overlap, -for strength

-als at ther rear, you have a reinforcing collar around the rear torsion housing, the rear battery tray is always a 6 vlter on the 64-67 looking style, even if they have high hinge loading doors and dagger front handles, 15 windows

-remember most 11 window vans were destined to bocome campers, so needed no windows to the rear - in order to build cupboards, generally in south america, they wanted 12 seaters with windows all around

-my take and my opinion only, -especially if you have owned a pre 63 split is

1 you will want a 12 volt stock bus, enen if its just for the fuel guage
-you will want a thin front arch, if you lower it
-you will want flared rear arches, to get the wheels out, and for clearance

-you will want the later rear lights, with an indicator
-you will want a tin top, no rust on the floors

-you will want 15 windows

i am of the persuasion that the rear body mumbers denote the year of production

-ie mine is
B7 - 00000000 -my take is its a brasil bus from 1967

-more people should add their findings

ps, there is no difference in quality, but there are differences
:D
