hey again everyone,
how do i go about replacing the right hand pan and heater channel on my bug, they are welded together so do i need to cut the channel off the pan first and then cut out the pan and replace it all at once?
and where do i cut?

p.s. are there any sites on the net with step by step how to's for this kind of work?

Hi

I think you have the same prob as me. Mine failed the MOT on a sill lip, but looks like someone has welded in what is called a heater channel quick repair panel. VW Hertage sells them, they are quick fix for doing holes at botom of channel.

Sorry I don't know where to cut, but I would like to find out as well.

Do they both need replacing?
If you buy the correct replacement panels for your car it will give you a very good idea as to what needs to be cut out to fit them.
I always cut the chanel out first, then have a very good look at the floor pan and decide if it needs replacing, or if it can be repaired.
