First of all a bit of background
This Fasty has been about the scene in various guises for a long time
heres some old Photos of it

This is what it looked like when i picked it up

Its a good car ,a bit tired round the edges...... but the price reflected that

I would also like to point out that im not taking a pop at any previous owners handiwork.......cos its lasted this long so cant be that bad!

So i decided it was time to put a bit of me into it.

Firstly im gonna say im not looking to build a show winner just a tidy fun car.....
Secondly i have no specialist skills R.e trimming bodywork....etc
and lastly its all happening on the driveway weather permitting

Pretty much the first thing i did was strip all the black paint off the chrome and bumpers..........cos i like chrome.

and that was when i encountered the first problem the back bumper was full of holes (hence the black paint)
Phoning up and ordering Fasty bumpers is a bit difficult i thought so i could have painted it black again......or come up with a temporary solution

Then i had a brainwave i skimmed the holes with filler and applied some Lidls Aluminium tape over it
Now it isnt gonna win concourse but you wouldnt have noticed if i didnt tell you would ya?

Then i turned my hand to the Holes in the front wings (Fiberglass ones) left from where it had the indicators changed for early ones.....

I keyed up around the holes with some sandpaper
put masking tape over them
Glassed them in from the Inside....
Skimmed flatted primed and topcoated them with a Rattlecan
and ended up like this

About a fortnight i realised it was leaking water into the cabin quite a bit the carpets were soaked the door panels were soaked and were growing Mildew...

It was starting to get quite fusty in there......Besides it was making the windows fog up and when it was sunny all the water would rise, collect in the headlining and drip
The Wife loved me for that happening :incheek::lol:
so i sealed all the windows up with a bead of mastic ,and touch wood it has been dry ever since.

so there i am with a fusty but Dry and mildue dotted and stained interior
The door panels had this cool checkered flag materiel on them.....
Shame was it was a bit knackered now:(
I tried cleaning it all up but it wasnt having any of it (the carpets responded well to going in the washing machine BTW..........shhh dont tell the Wife:lol:)

So i had a look online and managed to score some pretty similar material for a good price
I bought 8 metres of the stuff for about £35

I enquired about getting new seats for it but had no joy (the ones i have dont match or are ripped)
so the last couple of days ive set about it in a trial and error fashion

I know bugger all about trimming stuff BTW so it was all done in a haphazard manner
and heres how i left it tonight

Im no Bernie newbury but itll do me:lol:
