Clutch problems

460 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  mr scoops
Got back from a drive out and about this afternoon and as I turned into my drive I felt something on the clutch pedal 'give'.
I have now got about 6" of free pedal movement before the there is any feel or resistance..........
When I had the car in at Arnies in Street they said my pedal assembly was worn so I am hoping it is either that or for some reason the clutch cable has slipped.
I know there is a guy on here with some LHD pedal assemblies and I am waiting for him to get back to me.
In the meantime, anyone got any other suggestions???

I would be more inclined to suspect a cable frayed.

Pick up a new cable for your LHD year (they vary)
and then pull the pedal assy out.

If the old cable looks sound, then you can give the
pedal a thorough inspection.
I'd agree with Jim, the cable is the first thing to check. They commonly fray/break in the flexy conduit by the transmission so you could whip that off and check.
Cheers chaps. I'll have a look and see what is going on in there.
