You forgot the bit when he's holding the fella by his ankle over the cliff and you can see the wire attached to the guys ankle. Terrible film but it was good back in the day. Plus side is his daughter grew up into a proper hot woman.

 

All those 80s films were shocking now you see them again 20+ years on. All those Arnie films were pretty bad, as let's face it, it wasn't for the quality of the acting, just the action.

Maybe I'm old but films back then were far better, the 'Golden Age' for me. The imperfections and poor effects just make it betterer.

I watched Porky's the other night too, American Pie for a child of the 80's!

 

I don't think they're that bad, these type of films were not made for anything other than cheesy no-brainer action / violence... They weren't made for oscar /academy wins for acting etc...

But I do agree, "Bennett" was a pretty poor bad guy...

I still think the first Terminator and Predator films are still pretty good... I'd rather watch these 2 than some of the crap being released / has been released either now or in recent times.

I hadn't watched Commando for best part of 20 years so I thought I'd watch it lasr night...close run thing as Rambo 3 was on some other channel about rhe same time.
Did I really think that it was a brilliant film?At the age of 12 when it came out,probably tes cos it was like the A-team in ir's stuntwork and gun play,except with more blood but warching it through 41 year old eyes,I couldn't help thinking that it was,well,crap!
Enjoyable Saturday night switch off yer brain and watch crap and I may now have to go on a marathon eighties movie night watching the likes of Running man,Total Recall,Missing in Acrion,Iron Eagle and all rhe others.

I have that on VHS in the loft!soundtrack by Big Country too.
Vernon Wells also played the part of Wez in Mad Max2,couldn't be further apart from Bennett!

 

When it was last on we had to ring my sister in law and remind her that she used to fancy Arnie in that bit where he's in those little black pants getting into the boat. :lol:
As for the rubbish bad guy, it was only that last time we saw the film that we realised he looked suspiciously like the bassist from Frankie Goes to Hollywood. :lol:

 

I love the bits where there is some action and you see the stuntman who isn't even the same build, poorly dressed up as Arnie and then it cuts back to Arnie.:lol:

Predator still remains my fave film of all time. i know its Arnie and cheesey,, but i was transfixed from start to finish. Great clichés great action, very new and different (at the time) the best entertainment on celluloid i had ever seen.

The acting in Commando is no worse than the acting in Pacific Rim!
