I think most of these are custom paint jobs, or collector club/convention only cars. I can only see 2-3 that are mainline high street ones.I've never seen the volksrod with a roofrack or that exhaust, I've got a couple myself.
(These aren't mine)

Damn, that yellow lotus is another one for me to look for! 😂

If it's a t hunt, there will be a small circular symbol on the card, behind the car. It should be visible if you hold it upside down. The cars sometimes have t hunt as part of the deco.
I like this game! 😂
You got me on the square backs, I don't have a single one yet. I have 7 hover time machines; three on different cards, an error car (missing plastic piece) and three loose for each of my boys to play with. Took months to find. 😵Oh go on then.....
I'll raise you 3 Hover Time Machines, 3 Squares, a Black and Silver 356.

And I also picked these up:

How long have you been collecting? Hotwheels used to put a green side on the card, and called them t hunts. They started 'hiding' them 2-3 years ago.might need to go into the loft now and check all my hot wheels for treasure hunts !!![]()
Another thing to look for is error cars. This is where they have a manufacturing fault or quality control issue. They are sometimes worth more, but it depends on subject matter, and I think you probably have to live in the states. They are nuts for this stuff.Yea, most Hot Wheels cars will not be worth much £1-£2 but some of the Treasure Hunt ones do go for £50 plus but they are hard to find !!
personally i think most toy shop owners know this and they check their deliveries to see if there are any in there !
and no that is not sour grapes !! :incheek:![]()
Picked up its twin today in the same shop. 50p this time. I suspect foul play.I started like that. I'm in the hundreds now....
Here is today's prize. Not a hotwheels, but I occasionally check out charity shops, and picked this up for 10p.

Unlikely sources I have found are the co-op, whsmith and halfords. But smiths and halfords overcharge. Don't forget Argos, ask for customer view of an item and they will bring out their box. Some Argos have them on the shop floor.More than there is around here.
Tesco, morrisons, B&M, home bargains and sainsburys don't stock them and theres no waitrose or local toy shop.![]()
