Ok.

Imagine you had a treadmill (or conveyor belt) of sufficient size and length (maybe even railtrack sized) which could accomodate an train.

Would the train be able to take off?

Think it would depend on what angle the treadmill was raised at and whether when the emergency stop button was applied the train still had enough traction, but theoretically.. Yes :lol:

If the Train is a First Great western one, then at the first sign of rain or frost the treadmill's signals will fail at Southall, the First Class carriages will have stoped serving decent wine whe the old franchise closed, and there will be a bus replacement treadmill at Castle Cary.

Oh, and it will always be late.
