I am applying for a job and they want me to send a covering letter with my cv.
just unsure what needs to go in the covering letter?
any ideas?

dear hr person,
I would like to be put forward for the position advertised in the paper/online/etc.
I have x years experience doing y and feel I could be a valuable addition to your team. please find attached my cv,
yours etc.
cheesy, but it lets them know which job you are going for and that you're not some random bloke mailing his cv to all and sundry.
