It was on the radio today that 80% of us think that there should be stiffer penalties for parking in these bays. Now i think that disabled parking at the front of a car park is fine but dont agree with parent and child parking.

Before you all start kicking off I think its fair enough that there should be bigger bays for parent and child but why put them at the front of the car park next to the disabled bays. Its not a disability so why put them at the front with the disabled, why not at the back of the car park where space is'nt so tight. Just wondering your thoughts on this and wether you have kids or not and if this effects your opinion.

Now my wife who is pregnant says im wrong as car parks are dangerous places but I feel that is was a decision that we as parent made so why should we get preferential treatment. I for one will not use these bays as kids are not disabilities

so using that logic people who use parent and child see their children as a disability ........shocking attitude ...... :(
No but the people who put parent and child parking there do. For the people who dont Know me Im one of those people who cant help but stick to my point. The point im making is that kids are NOT a disability and parents dont deserve special treatment for deciding to have them but will take the option to use them when offered.

And, yes i am a parent and i wouldn't want to drag my child across a busy supermarket car park.
Please forgive me for picking you out here... (cos you aint alone)

'dragging' a child across a supermarket car park is hardly dicing with death - anywhere. And part of the reason this 'world' is so namby pamby.

Could new parents grow themselves a pair of bollocks and stop being such soft arses. ....?

Take them to the shops, and then the playground, and then a walk along the canal and the farmers field - with a bit of luck they will grow up normal ;)

Why do they have more disabled than parent and child spaces? Just wondered? :)
I think they sould have sheep spaces. You park your car the farest from the store to avoid the "door bangers" you come back to find your car fecking boxed in by the biggest sheds on the road all parked 2mm from each side. They are like sheep!

I think the issue is car spaces are the same size as they always have been but cars are growing in size due to safety laws and passenger comfort. This makes it harder for little people to get in and out and effectivly fecks you big time if you dare to take a baby seat out. This coupled with common sense to move the spaces closer to shop for safety and ease ( carrying the baby in it's seat ) to the store / trolley area. The idea is simple, make baby and then mum and dad happy and they stay longer and spend more money thus increasing the profits for the store. I am a dad of 4 children, we have twin babies it boils my piss to see people abuse this, even the ones who think parent and child is a good place to park is a 11 and 6 year old. We only started using the spaces again when the twins were born, not before when our then youngest (who was 4)could walk. The same goes for disabled space abuse.
