Alright ... new to all this so please bear with me

I bought a '66 21 window in January with the view to restoring it ... its getting there but taking sometime.

It didnt come with an engine, and I was wondering if someone could suggest what would be best if I want to stick with the stock gearbox and reduction boxes ... ? Looking for reliability more than anything ....

Cheers for the help

I will have a T1 1600 from my '66 available if you want it? I am restoring it an dputting in a T4 lump!

Its a good runner, and will come with everything - if you fancy.

It is still in my '66 so you can see / hear it running if you like! :D

IMHO - T4 would be the best way formawd with nice smooth reliable power!

Good luck!!

1500 is a good strong VW engine and considered one of the best engines VW ever built.

I say a 1500 single port engine would be spot on with a standard reduction box system. Not going to be ripping up the tarmac, but a good combination.

p.s. Welcome to VZI
Indeed :) bullet proof. :)
