I am rebuilding my engine at the moment (which has turned out to be way more trouble than its worth!!), having fitted the oil pump the crankshaft will only move about half a rotation before meeting resistance and stopping. I was thinking it may have been the bolts on the new scat cam? Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Pull the pump out and see if it turns.
Then make some measurements to the bolt heads.

If you have the distrib drive gear installed, that will jam when
the crank is turned one direction (as another possible).

Look for signs where the cam bolts may be hitting the pump.

Push the pump in by hand as you turn the crank. Leave the
pump drive out (just the casting) as a test.

Was the Scat cam listed for this case/pump?

It is a standard scat c25 cam in a stock case no worries, however I believe the pump could be gene berg so not sure. Where would it be listed?
Thanks

Disregard that. If it's non-stock pump, you probably
won't find any reference.

I would look for visual clues to the interference
and see if some mod (grinding?) could cure it.
