HI WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO FIT A 1600 INTO A 1972 BUS THAT HAS A 1700 T4 ENGINE IN IT THANKS PAUL ;)

not sure on all the things but you need all the 1600 bus tinware & heat exchangers & exhaust. also i think you may need to change the fly wheel from the 1700 to match the clutch or bell housing . as it needs to match teh starter motor locations .

Mostly the tinware that mates a 1600 to the cavernous
opening where the T4 was (is). It's vital that every
opening be tightly closed off.

The heat exchangers will work but the cable to the lever
will not as it works backwards.

Make sure the pressure plate is the newer style without
the centre thrust ring.

I have put 1600 engines into '72/73 vans without trouble
regarding the input shaft, although there are warnings about
this.

You will definitely need a rear engine support brace of some
kind as the gbox is not designed to carry a cantilevered load.
