Hi Guys,

I'm off to Vegas on thursday and don't know what to do about these flipping exchange rates..I've started watching the BBC tracker and it's just depressing me as currently the exchange rate just keeps dropping.

So..does anyone know anywhere decent that does a good exchange rate, or would I be best waiting til I get to the states to get some dollars??

Cheers guys :D

Bad timing hun :(

The £1 is dropping like a stone . . . even two weeks ago it was $1.8s . . . $1.5s is all you'll get anywhere right now :(
We genaraly get our hol spendo's from the airport ..but we prebook it online first ..that seems to get us the best exchange rate around
what about buying at the post office , or somewhere else that charges zero commission and buys back ..

if it goes down , spend the cash ,
if it goes up , use a credit card and sell the dollars back when you get home

???
It went up to 1.6 over the weekend...but is back down again...dunno what to do :(

Should I buy it out there or over here?
have a look round the money supermarket website
'Once upon a time, in a village, a man appeared and announced to the villagers that he would buy monkeys for $10 each.

The villagers, seeing that there were many monkeys around, went out to the forest and started catching them.

The man bought thousands at $10 and, as supply started to diminish, the villagers stopped their effort. He further announced that he would now buy at $20 for a monkey. This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys again.

Soon the supply diminished even further and people started going back to their farms. The offer increased to $25 each, and the supply of monkeys became so small that it was an effort to even find a monkey, let alone catch it!

The man now announced that he would buy monkeys at $50! However, since he had to go to the city on some business, his assistant would now buy on behalf of him.

In the absence of the man, the assistant told the villagers. 'Look at all these monkeys in the big cage that the man has collected. I will sell them to you at $35, and when the man returns from the city, you can sell them to him for $50 each.'

The villagers rounded up all their savings and bought all the monkeys.

They never saw the man nor his assistant again, only monkeys everywhere!
Now you have a better understanding of how the stock market works.'

i get mine when i'm there
if you have an account with the nationwide, you can use the ATM like you would here, no fee's :D
just the exchange rate on the day
when i was there last it was $2.03 to £1
i had "she who must be obeyed" help me open an account, an i dumped every penny {cent} i could afford into it, knowing it would stay as good for ever :D
I've got natwest..I'll have to see how much they charge..but I'd rather have the cash and not use my card so I know exactly how much I've got...so i'll prob take out all the cash and change it as and when

From what I remember they make a charge per transaction of about £2. The exchange rate is normally equivalent or slightly better than you'd get on the high street.
