I don't think it was Top Gear, but they were presented by Willy Woollard, who also presented Top Gear?65_1200 said:anyone remember the really old top gear programmes, when they had rally reports?
or maybe it was just that one episode?
I can see what your getting at. Hammond is a journo not a driver. I wouldn't dream of shoving any old numpty in fireforce let alone that vampire thing. None of the top gear guys are actually drivers first and foremost, apprently the plan was to put james may in the car? Shame they got rid off Tiff really, at least he had a degree of tallent.Thargor1 said:i dont really think they shud have put hammond in the jet car.

you know the coverage used to be loads better......they used to advertise it weeks in advance and make a big deal of it with loads of programmes(not just strictly about the event).....now its seems like a few half hour shows and thats it......i say bring back tony mason......just keep him away from ponds......and thats not tonybubbaontour said:It was top gear.
Top gear did a rally special every year for britains round of the world rally championship. It was knowen in the 80's as the lombard/RAC rally then in the 90's the Network Q/RAC rally.
William Wollard, Tony Mason and Sue Rider. I have them all on video from 86 to 98
The don't do it anymore due to the nature of the rally changing alot over the last 6 years. We used to travel round the whole country but now its just in south wales. And also the TV rite's changed and are owned by my boss.
