Bought a 'fully restored' 1972 beetle 1300, DVK49K, IN 1987, that made it just 15yr old and received a considerable amount of welding and fully painted. Was a brilliant bug, and many times wish I'd kept it, bought it with 12mths mot and 12mths tax for £800, from a restorer who is still working local to me today!

£750 for a fairly tidy 2 owner '72 bug back in '94. Still have it although fully restored now

I pulled a 1971 beetle off an old chaps front lawn back in 2002 and paid him the princely sum of £250, including a spare set of wings

Mk2 Golf gti for about £500. Dodgy 4 speed box. Fast up to 80, then nothing. Iffy ignition barrel too.
Must have been about 2003ish
Joined a forum/club then. Think it was Junction 29

I didn’t think they made a 4speed mk2 gti, wonder was was the box from a mk1 or something ?

First driving car….

1993- ‘68, GPmk2 buggy, £250 which I rebuilt. Never could afford a roof and daily driver for a year come rain or shine

Thwy didn't. Probably blew it up and chucked that in
