Proper brush on automotive contact adhesive not the spray stuff it'll give up

 

Sound deadening matts are usually sticky back and you heat them up to shape and stick better, spray glue is pretty good otherwise

 

It depends what you are using as sound deadening. For the main floorpan I'd coat with peel and stick mat using a heat gun, then spray glue/contact adhesive jute or the like to the bottom of the carpet and loose lay those bits.

 

Cheers for the imput guys! Ive just looked and my sound deadening is the "peel and stick" stuff to i guess i dont have to worry about that! (Thought it wasnt sticky) so if i just use a good paint on automotive contact adhesive that should stick my carpets down nicely?

Just looked on ebay and its about £20 a litre, that sound right?

I stuck my firewall/bulkhead/innerwing carpet with hd contact, but loose laid the floor carpet incase I need to lift it anytime. The hd contact sticks like shite to a blanket

I'll be using the proper interior material glue for the headlining....when it gets done that is

 

Sounds it. Though you can just use bog standard contact adhesive, apply to both surfaces wait till tacky then stick together.

I did my bug last year. the soundproof pads had sticky backs, but you can get one you heat up. and i used spray carpet glue i got off ebay (3 tins for like a tenner) and all is still holding well

 

Or adhere the peel and stick, then use a flexible coating on top, epoxy mastic might work
