Flicking pressure gauge?

471 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Red Leader
I've just fitted an oil pressure gauge along side the temp, tach and clock in the split but it flicks with the indicators. The earth to the gauges appears to be good. Do I need a resistor or something?

Cheers,

More likely the voltage feeding the new gauge is dropping
as the indicator lamps come on. Those bulbs draw a lot
of Amps for an instant as they warm up each flash.

Just for an experiment, run a long wire (needn't be very thick)
from the gauge + terminal all the way back to battery (+) post.
Put an in line fuse in if you do.

Mine work fine and i run 6v, are you sure you havn't wired the gauge into the indicator circuit?
