Time is coming for the floor pans to be overhauled/renewed.

Was considering painting floor pans with two coats of POR15, two of Rust Bullet, then one coat of smooth Hammerite...is this over-egging the pud.

Perhaps I need to get out a bit more often???

Both Rustbullet and POR15 depend for their efficiency on a direct bond with the metal/rust so painting one on top of the other doesn't get you any extra.

Don't know much about Hammerite - some of the old timers on here seem to like it, others reckon it's not up to much. It doesn't have any rust-killing/prevention qualities so far as I know.

I've used POR15 to paint the floorpan in advance and had no problems. Very tough finish, no sign of rust thereafter. That'd be my 2 cents.

Good luck with it!

You really do not need to put coats of paint on as you are suggesting, 3 coats of rustbullet, 2 coats of topcoat (if you want) and you will not have any further problems, remember though, you have to coat both sides of a panel to get the correct protection
