i have a karmann ghia which i foresee getting cut up :(

but the chassis is IRS with balljoint beam :hangloose

now I think that if i cut out ( the probably rusty) ghia floorpans and weld in some bug pans the chassis will serve well in my bug for good handling etc ,
then i wont have to irs my bug swing axle chassis- which I plan to do anyway?

is this the case is the bug and ghia chassis the same bar the floorpan with?

or is the chassis destined for the big drag strip in the sky too?

Floorpans are the only difference.
If you use the KG chassis for the Bug, remember that the registration number stays with the chassis.
Is the KG body really that bad ? It seems a waste, to raid a KG to upgrade a bug.

After visiting a Ghia owner recently I can safely say that the front of the floor pan is different to a Beetle.

The beetle one angles back from the frame-head to the sills through roughly 45 degrees. The ghia pan turns through 90 degrees - like the Trekker pans do.

yeah a rhd car! a 73 square bumper car.
economically i think a rust free car and a dash swop would be better
