:incheek: 65 split panel van, tried fitting standard 12v relay to get the indicators working no joy at all.hazard lights ticking away happily tho.swapped old 2 pin relay(wagner) from 4 ways onto the indicators hey presto they work,now new relay won't work the hazards, anyone any idea where to get a 2 pin or is there another way round it?bus is 12v by the way. :incheek:

You can get 2 pin flasher relays from vehicle wiring products here:

One interesting thing to note is a '65 panel van won't have had hazard lights originally. It was very common in the 70's/80's for people to buy "hazard light kits" which tapped into the existing wiring loom so I can only assume it's been fitted with one of those kits. Two pin flasher relays aren't really designed to operate the hazard switch. A "quick fix" would be to remove the Hazard light switch as it's not actually an MOT requirement for the age of your van.

:incheek: many thanx for the info. shud've said it's lhd.yanks bein yanks had them as standard.it's a lovely red shiny lens tho. :incheek:

AH! Yeah the US one had them as standard.

One of the Angel VW Club members had a problem with their US imported splitty as they couldn't get a replacement flasher unit anywhere and ended up having to order one directly from the US.
