i'm rewiring my beetle
the wiring diagram shows 4 connections but my relay (from a '74 beetle) has 5 connections - fat white (56a), fat yellow (56b), thin brown/white (S), fat black/white (56) AND fat red (30) which isn't shown on the diagram where does it go?
Yes, it's 'downstream', as the pic shows. There's nothing stopping you from switching fuse sizes, depends how original you want to be. Sometimes it's useful to alter the position of some wires to make room for other additions like extra lights/relays etc. Just as an example, the radio fuse is 'going spare' on the pic so you could use that, with a fuse to match, to power anything. Keeping it original is best though, makes life easier if you develop a fault later and need to trace it.
