I think most carpet companies will come and measure it themselves I was having the same debate at the weekend but I've decided to leave the stairs carpet for now I'm feeling a bit poor!
How do you measure landing & stairs for carpet?
I'm puzzled! How do you do it? 
The landing area is 'L' shaped, and the stairs are one straight flight but have two custom shaped triangular steps at the bottom.
Any carpet fitters on here that could advice please?...
