how easy is it to fit your own house aerial?

Don't want to pay the "ooh about £90" for putting an aerial on my hoose.

I won't have to get on the roof as the previous owner had it mounted up the side of the hoose.

Are they pretty easy to line-up etc?

I just copied where all the other houses were pointing theirs, worked pretty well.

(assuming you aren't in the middle of nowhere, in which case you could perhaps bring the TV outside at dusk so you can see the picture as you move the aerial?)

Own fault, should have taken Emu off before climbing that ladder.
I put a new aerial up, but luckily it was in the loft, anyway if you have an existing aerial to use as a referance, & if you have a compass you will find it is pointing SW or SSW, so just align you new one as the existing 1 or use a compass to get SW.
If youve not got a compass get up to the place your mounting from & find a landmark/referance point that the current aerial points at.

PS. the best aerial you can buy in the shops is around £30-35 from B&Q or Wilko's, so anyone offering a putting up service is only gonna buy the same aerial, & charge the differance, Probs £60, for half hours work.
do you think the quality of a loft fitted one is less than a roof one?
